For some people, especially those with dry or sensitive skin, these additions can lead to irritation.
At True Tallow Company, we chose a different path: locally sourced farm tallow, a traditional skincare ingredient used for generations before commercial lotions existed. Instead of layering complex formulas, tallow works with our skin's design by providing nutrients it already recognizes.
Not because it’s trendy.
Not because it’s new.
But because it has stood the test of time.

What is tallow?
Tallow is a natural fat rendered from beef that has been used for cooking, soapmaking, and skincare long before modern cosmetics existed.
When carefully rendered, filtered, and prepared for skin use, tallow becomes a stable, nutrient-dense moisturizer that closely resembles the natural oils our skin produces. This similarity allows it to absorb well, support the skin barrier, and help lock in moisture without unnecessary additives.
Unlike many modern lotions, tallow does not rely on fillers or synthetic stabilizers. Its simplicity is what makes it effective. A single, whole ingredient doing what it was designed to do.
At True Tallow Company, we use locally sourced tallow from trusted farms, mainly from Lock Cattle Company, a family-owned cattle farm. Then we render and whip it in small batches to preserve quality, freshness, and integrity.
Our skin is designed to protect us. It produces natural oils that help maintain balance, retain moisture, and defend against the environment.
Tallow works well because its fatty acid profile is similar to the oils our skin already produces. This allows it to nourish the skin without overwhelming it or disrupting its natural processes.
Instead of sitting on the surface like many lotions, tallow absorbs gradually and helps support the skin barrier. The result is skin that feels softer, more hydrated, and more balanced over time.
Because tallow is free from fillers and unnecessary additives, it does not require preservatives to remain stable. This simplicity can be especially helpful for those with sensitive or easily irritated skin.
